I’m very happy to have you on my blog because this means that you (just like me :)) are interested in healthy food and lifestyle! 

“You are what you eat” is an old saying and this is pretty much true. The healthier you eat, the better you nourish your body and mind!

I know that you might be struggling to find balance between work, family and other activities (like most people) and therefore, many times, indulge in eating convenient yet unhealthy meals. But it doesn’t have to be this way…

I know that you really want to change (“alter”) your eating habits towards a healthier nutrition and lifestyle, but you don’t know where to start. Don’t worry, you’re in the right place!

My mission is to help you change your cooking habits and eat better, real and healthier food! Whatever diet you are following (e.g. vegan, vegetarian, paleo, pescetarian, traditional,  fusion etc), AlterCooking will become your one stop resource for healthy recipes, cooking tips and guides.

Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, can switch and commit to healthy eating TODAY!

A major rule of a healthy diet is to avoid processed, packages and canned food as much as you can. In this context, I suggest easy DIY recipes that will help you substitute “ready made” products that you buy in food stores with healthy homemade food products! Replace can dressings, sauces, snacks etc and impress your family and friends! You will be amazed how easy it is to make the homemade version of your beloved food items and how much you and your family will benefit from this. Think of it as a step towards your new life of a cleaner and healthier living.

2. Cook healthy recipes

You’ll me amazed how many recipes are healthy yet delicious! 

Through our carefully selected recipes from the most famous chefs and healthy food bloggers on the web, you’ll discover new meal ideas as well as alternatives to traditional recipes with a healthier approach, ingredients and way of cooking. You will discover that a healthy diet is not another restriction but a new world of delicious choices, flavors, scents and colors.

3. Maintain a healthy lifestyle

In this section you are going to find whatever makes your “life in the kitchen” easier and your life happier: meal prep ideas, suggestions and reviews of cooking and baking equipment, smart solutions, gadgets, funny stuff and other cooking and dining related products. Some of them are used in the recipe videos, others are just suggested by our team to make cooking simple and effortless. Special offers, discounts and sales on products will also be featured here, so check this section frequently to not miss out on amazing deals.

3. Follow tips & guides

No one was born a chef nor a cooking expert! Furthermore, cooking is a huge world by itself, with so many things to learn. Therefore, apart from the recipes themselves, we share small bits of advice and tips that can make your cooking healthier, easier and more tasteful. There are things that chefs rarely disclose, yet they can be found everywhere, from the web to your grandmother’s recipe book. We share these tips with you, so that you can dive into different cultures and ethnic cuisines, use alternative ingredients, explore new raw materials and expand you ways of thinking.
